Duke Energy Center

The Duke Energy Center is equipped with a state-of-the-art energy management system that utilizes digital sensors instead of conventional thermostats. Building temperatures can be adjusted within a range prescribed by building operating specifications and North Carolina energy codes, with a typical target of 72 degrees in winter and 74 degrees in summer. Actual temperatures vary depending upon location on floor, current weather, building occupancy, and time of day, as well as due to tenant policies for temperatures within their leased premises. Some tenants, for example, have energy management policies that prescribe a specific set point range in winter and a different set point range in summer.

Please note that our objective is always to ensure maximum comfort and efficiency for all. Temperatures are primarily adjusted in zones and therefore all adjustments must take into account the comfort of multiple occupants, rather than individual preference. If you are uncomfortable with the temperature in your space, please notify the Help Desk at 1-866-789-4343 so your zone may be checked and the temperature adjusted back to the pre-determined target, if necessary.
